Relevant Experience:
Zvjezdan has started his career in 2008 as Electronics Technician and has found his passion in global procurement of electronics already 3 years later. Since then he was learning and experiencing the world of procurement in several global companies in different roles and responsibilities. With market leaders in household appliances as well in the HVAC he was able to bring his skills to the next level. With his technical background he was able to improve existing and develop new electronics suppliers in Europe and Asia over the next 9 years. His strengths were always to learn new skills how to increase the efficiency and automatization of the current processes in the procurement department. Therefore he was always increasing his knowledge about new technologies. After spending 7 months in China for personal development and learning the Chinese language he started his first leading positions at Belimed Life Science and had the opportunity to build our supply chain teams in Switzerland and Slovenia, as well to develop our procurement and logistics processes from the scratch. During the global supply chain crisis, he automated the processes, increased the transparency and has made our supply chain more resilient.

What drives me:
I was always driven by the quote “It’s not about being the best. It’s about being better than you were yesterday.” During times of globalization, fast changes on the markets and one supply chain crisis following another it’s important to stay calm and focus on how we can get better by 1% every single day. On the job as head of supply chain I’m keen to increase our internal efficiency in the processes to be able to focus with the team on the tasks which will make our company more competitive and flexible on the market. What I especially love in my job is the cooperation with our partners and suppliers worldwide, to work with different cultures and to understand how to negotiate with different characters to get the best possible deal for both.

Who we are: Although Belimed Life Science has only been around on paper since April 2019, we already have 50 years of experience in the field of Life Science. Through the repositioning we enjoy the advantages of an SME with shorter distances, faster processes and more efficient project management. This enables us to respond more specifically to the special challenges of the life science industry. Nevertheless, we still have our big sister, Belimed Infection Control, and our mother, the Metall Zug Group, behind us for reinforcement. Especially through the worldwide service network of Belimed Infection Control we can rely on a good cooperation worldwide. What we do: One of our products goes back to the invention of the German surgeon Friedrich Trendelenburg (1844-1924). In 1882 he had an autoclave installed in his Bonn Surgical University Clinic. Without this technology, all products contaminated with germs and viruses would have to be incinerated to kill them. Since then, Belimed Life Science has perfected the process of steam sterilization and added further processes. In addition to steam sterilizers, we develop and manufacture cleaning systems for products that have to be reliably cleaned. No matter whether small jars or large containers, we adapt the cleaning system in such a way that an optimal washing result is guaranteed. We understand how to handle steam, water and the most modern operating systems which guarantee a frictionless operation. Highest reliability and repeatability are our standard.
